IN THIS LESSON

What do we mean exactly by giving something attention? We're going to go over that in this class.

First of all, your hands alone can give something attention. Please understand that you can always just put your hands on your body and relax back into allowing and you will gain some benefit from it. Just putting your hands lovingly on your body is therapeutic.

But generally speaking, when we give something attention, we're talking about focusing on it with both your hands and your mind's eye.

If you've learned anatomy, it can be very helpful to focus on the anatomical structures that might be underneath your hand. Call to mind the muscle or tendon you think might be in need of healing. Maybe the problem is in the bone or in a nerve or organ. You just zoom in or out to any level in the body and hold your attention there.

If you don't have formal anatomy training, I encourage you to research the spot you intending to heal before you sit down to work on yourself. Just google it.

Or, you can just focus in on the general area and trust the intuitive impressions you receive. More on that in the 'Querrying the Field' lesson.

Alternatively, you can focus on the sensations you might be feeling in your hand. Or in the flesh underneath your hand.

People are different. Some people are more comfortable visualizing things. Other people hear things. Sometimes people just focus in on some part of their body and know. Over time, you'll learn what your skills are and develop those.

Also keep in mind that whenever we are attending, we're also allowing. Those actions happen simultaneously. If you can remember that then it's easier to not fall into the trap of trying to heal yourself. Please remember that we're never trying to make the tissues do what we want. We're not forcing, only trusting and allowing. The attitude is really more of watching your children playing in the back yard. You'd never want to interrupt them.

Join me in the next lesson to review the importance of touch.
